Craig Linzmeier, LPC
Therapist - Accepting New Patients
The internal conflict that comes with making a call for counseling services is very common for a lot of individuals. I say that because I often hear, “I have been meaning to call so many times” or “I should have called sooner”. My intention in the counseling process is to set a foundation of trust so we can build a solid rapport. I want to help you form a sense of empowerment and create change that is meaningful and founded on strong character and values. You can expect during this process that your thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and memories are strongly woven into each session. I find it is important to meet clients where they are at and ultimately, I want you to end each session feeling a sense of relief. I hope that you leave my office thinking about something you have not thought about before, garnering a sense of insight that allows you to feel ready for change. I consider myself friendly, personable, and genuine. That translates into you feeling heard, validated, and understood.
I have been in the mental health field for over 25 years. Throughout my career I have been fortunate to work in a variety of areas including in-home therapy, residential, inpatient, group therapy, employer assistance program, and outpatient counseling. While working in these areas, I have worked with diverse populations across different cultures, demographics, and age groups.
My personal approach to counseling is not exclusive to not one method. Instead, I like to use my creativity in combination with my vast years of training to make the approach as unique as the individual. I have a special interest in working with children as young as four through adulthood, and with concerns related to anxiety, depression, OCD, grief, family, divorce, emotion regulation, parenting, ADHD, relationships, sports performance, life transitions, anger/behavioral issues, work and/or school issues, addictions, career planning and abuse.
I attended the University of Green Bay Wisconsin for my undergraduate degree and went on to complete my master’s degree at Roosevelt University in Chicago IL. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with the National Board for Certified Counselors and have a substance abuse specialty.
I grew up in the De Pere area and love spending time with my wife and two children. In my spare time, I enjoy both watching and playing sports. I also enjoy any time outdoors and find I feel rather accomplished when I am refinishing furniture.
